As part of the recent Optus ‘Give More Yes!’ Christmas campaign for 2014, to match the company’s marketing creative, we put together a fun little beach setting for an internal live streaming video announcement and Q&A panel, featuring Optus’ CEO, Allen Lew.
The campaign is a summery take of the traditional holiday season, which showcases a lively idea of an “Australian Christmas”.
As the announcement would be one of the first times that Optus people would get a look at the accompanying television commercial for the campaign, it was important to really drive the look and overall feel of ‘Give More Yes!’ internally for the company’s brand and culture.
To accommodate the three on-screen speakers, as well as create a comfortable and informal environment for a Q&A panel, the set included a set of fold-out chairs for lounging. The moderator for the piece, Rohan Ganeson, Managing Director of Sales for Optus, was given a Samsung Tablet which selected questions from Optus staff were pushed to live, allowing the conversation and interaction with the audience to be real time.
The streaming event was captured in-studio with a dual camera setup of a Sony PMW-F5 and an Epic-X Red Dragon, both fitted with modified Zeiss Contax prime lenses.
This was streamed internationally to thousands of Optus and subsidiary employees using Livestream Studio and an online platform developed and produced by MRK Development with successful audience interaction, as well as smooth streaming.
Overall, the shoot was a fun one to mark the near end of 2014.
